North Side could soon have a new tourist attraction as plans to open up Crystal Caves to the public take a step closer.
The natural site is home to around one hundred caves. Land owner Christian Sorensen wants to share them with visitors. He recently put in a planning application to build toilets on the site and have security and a concessions stand.
Mr. Sorensen said he hopes to open up three of the caves by the end of the year. He added maybe in the future some of the more difficult to reach caves may become accessible to more serious explorers.
